Uganda drawn against Kenya in the women Rugby 7s

Buteme stated this when asked to comment on the opponents in pool B where Uganda was drawn against Tunisia, Madagascar and neighbours Kenya.

The Lady Rugby Cranes 7s team coach Helen Buteme is optimistic her girls will make it to the Knockout stages of the Rugby Africa women sevens tournament in Zimbabwe next week.

Buteme stated this when asked to comment on the opponents in pool B where Uganda was drawn against Tunisia, Madagascar and neighbours Kenya.

"Yes they are strong sides and has got a lot of experience but I believe we can defeat them because we have done so before," Buteme stated.

Apart from South Africa in pool A, the Lady Cranes 7s team has beaten the remaining teams and that is where Buteme derives her confidence from.

Buteme named her final squad of 12 players who include; Aisha Nakityo, Brenda Kayiyi, Charlotte Mudoola, Emmanuella Oroma, Gilder Azikuru, Grace Auma, Harriet Kayonjo, Juliet Nandawula, Peace Wokorach, Phionah Nalubwama and Samiya Ayikoru.

The team leaves for Zimbabwe on Thursday and play their opening game against Madagascar, before facing Tunisia and Kenya.
