Five drown in Lake Bunyonyi

Five people of the same family drowned in Lake Bunyonyi in the western district of Kabale after a canoe in which they were travelling was hit by a storm and capsized.
The deceased include a man, his wife, child, their sister-in-law and her child.
The body of one child has been retrieved by locals, as the search for the other four victims is on-going. The body was retrieved moments after the incident.
The bodies of Turyagumanawe, his wife Loy Mukamasiimwe, Catherine Phiona and her child Grace are still missing.
The Rubaya sub-county LC3 chairperson, Canon Enoch Kazooba, said the incident happened at Mushebeya when the victims were travelling from a relative's party in Mushebeya, Buhumba parish Kamuganguzi sub-county in Kabale District, to their home in Kabirago Ndarura village Rwanyena parish in Rubaya sub-county in Kabale district.
Two people also drowned in the same lake over the weekend.
