FUFA had proposed the matches be held at Kakindu and Bugembe grounds which was rejected

The FUFA technical centre in Njeru is set to host its first major competition when the inaugural CECAFA Women Championship is staged in Uganda from 11th to 24th September.

CECAFA general secretary Nicholas Musonye, who visited Uganda to assess the country's readiness to host the championship on Friday, recommended that FUFA hosts the competition at its technical centre in Njeru because the other venues around Jinja are in bad shape.

FUFA international match organising committee had proposed the matches be held at Kakindu and Bugembe grounds which Musonye rejected.

"We shall host the competition at the technical center while teams will be hosted in hotels around Njeru," the committee boss Bernard Ogwel said.

The championship has attracted guest team Namibia alongside hosts Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Burundi, which have all confirmed participation.
