The news about the books has since gone viral on social media with many expressing anger and disappointment.

The school rector Joy Maraka has since issued a formal apology to parents.

In a communication, she stated, "On behalf of Greenhill academy, I would like to offer our sincere an unreserved apology to the entire Greenhill community for the age-unsuitable literature that was found in the library Greenhill Academy Buwaate and inadvertently accessed by one of the students of the school. Following this regrettable incident, I held a meeting with honourable minister of state minister for ethics and integrity the honourable Simon Lokodo who committed to work with the school."

In an exclusive interview on Wednesday evening, Lokodo said that he visited the school upon getting information that its library has illegal books in the library.

"I stormed Greenhill Academy this morning and they confessed that in their library they had copies of a book titled ‘Love Lessons' in their library. My team was able to confiscate copies found in the shelves. We are trying to trace where the book came from and who is the supplier and we will take action, however the supplier of the book remains unknown" he said.

According to the minister, the school management has been asked to make formal commitments pledging to reveal the source of the literature.

Lokodo revealed that his ministry has similar on-going operations around the country to check on what kind books children are reading.

It is not clear whether other titles shared on social media are also available at the Greenhill Academy library, but Maraka denied that they had several books as was reported on social media.

One of the parents alleged that she found a similar book in the bag of her 8-year-old son.
