Phillip Omondi Award tops KCCA FC Awards gala

This will be the biggest of the four awards lined up including the Jackson Mayanja Award that will go to the MVP of the junior team.

The KCCA FC Most Valuable Player will be voted for at Friday's first ever End of Season Awards gala to be held at their ground in Lugogo.

The MVP will be bestowed with the Phillip Omondi Award.

Players will also vote for the best amongst themselves for the Jimmy Kirunda Award while the most disciplined player will get the Tom Lwanga Award.

Apart from Omondi (RIP) who passed on the other three are living legends of the 53 year old club that was started by refuse collectors way back.

At the same occasion, all the past nine Chairmen of KCCA FC including founder Samuel Wamala (RIP) will be honoured at a function where Life Patron Hon Jaberi Bidandi Ssali will be the chief guest.

Some of the former chairmen to be honoured including posthumously are; Jack Ibale (1974-1989) who was nicknamed ‘Team ya Kitongole', Stephen Isabirye (1989-1992), Abraham Byandala (1992-1999), James Ssegane (1999-2002), Hasibu Takuba (2002-2006), Godfrey Kisekka (2006-2009), Bakka Musujja (2009-2011) and Mike Okua (2011-2014).
