Pakasa 8th Edition for August

The Pakasa Forum is a quarterly hall meeting created with a mission to inspire and encourage youth to create their dream job through entrepreneurship.

The number one youth entrepreneurship forum, Pakasa is back! For its 8th Edition, the Pakasa Forum is bringing with it lots of excitement and a world famous key note speaker and CEO of Safaricom, Bob Collymore.

The Pakasa Forum is a quarterly hall meeting created with a mission to inspire and encourage youth to create their dream job through entrepreneurship. The youth learn from a seasoned panel of young and older entrepreneurs on how to make a business successful.

The forum will take place on the 5th and 6th of August 2016. There will be a private leadership session for senior managers under the theme "Achieving success consistently -The Safaricom story" on Friday 5th August at Emin Pasha Hotel with entrance at 150,000 Ugx per person.

A second session targeting the youth plus university and secondary students under the theme "Skills for the marketplace- The success factor"  will be held at the Kampala Parents' School Auditorium on Saturday 6th of August. Entrance is free for all

Robert (Bob) Collymore, the keynote speaker at both sessions, is the CEO of Safaricom Limited, a leading communications company in Africa and pioneer of M-PESA, the world's most developed mobile payment system.

 

His work experience spans across diverse countries such as Japan, South Africa and the United Kingdom where he's held progressively senior roles in marketing, purchasing, retail and corporate affairs.

 

The CEO of Vision Group, Robert Kabushenga said "Bob has more than 30 years of commercial experience working in the telecommunications sector and is passionate about how businesses can be catalysts in transforming communities. This is important to a country like Uganda where most entrepreneurial startups do not live longer than their third birthday, so the knowledge he will be imparting is not only relevant to business manager but to all business owners."

 

Under Bob's leadership, Safaricom has committed to utilize its infrastructure to achieve universal access to essential communications and leverage partnerships that aim to tackle health and clean energy for a positive impact on economic growth.

 

"We therefore urge all Ugandans in the business sector or even those with hopes of starting a business to join us at the Pakasa Forum on 5th and 6th August 2016" Kabushenga reiterated.
