Gov't should 'boost irrigation' in parched Teso

The LC5 chairman of Ngora district has tasked government to set aside money for irrigation for Teso region.

Bernard Eumu says this should be done to deal with the issues of food scarcity in the area.

Eumu's calls come at a time when most people in the region are starving due to a spell of drought.

Government needs to take into consideration water provision for purposes of boosting agriculture, a move that will also promote food security for households engaged in farming, he adds.
