MP dragged to court for allegedly burning wife's car

Nabweru Chief Magistrate has summoned Bukooli Central MP in Bugiri district, Solomon Silwany to respond to allegations by his wife, that he burned her car.

Silwany has been given 15 days to file his defence.

Kasifa Katono, a researcher at the National Agricultural Research Organization claims that in June last year, the legislator borrowed her car, only to burn it to ashes at Namataba near Namagunga.

Katono claims Silwanyi was driven by envy.

She alleges that her car was worth over 18 million shillings and wants court to order Silwany to compensate her, pay damages, interest and costs of the suit.
