He said he is only a signatory to the account

The Archdeacon of the Urban Center in the Diocese of Northern Uganda Reverend Canon Ocaka has described as baseless the allegations that he stole church funds.

Reverend Ocaka said he was not on the subcommittee of the construction of the father's house. Patrick Bongomin however said it is the chairman of the father house to account for missing sh1.5m.

He said he is only a signatory to the account and did not touch the money as it was earlier reported by media outlets.

The Bishop of the Northern Uganda Diocese, Johnson Gakumba during ordination of twenty seven clergymen made it public that Reverend Ocaka had been suspended for one year over the allegation of misusing church funds.

Gakumba said Reverend Ocaka had refunded the money and repented his sin and the church was ready to re install him to carry out his duty as a reverend.

Ocaka however said it is the chairman who refunded the money and not him.

When contacted last evening Bongomin asked our reporter to ‘forget the past'.
