Lukwago swearing-in pushed to a further date

Enanga explained that Police will concentrate its man power on securing visiting Heads of State and pilgrims traveling to Namugongo for the Martyrs Day celebrations.

Kampala Lord Mayor elect Erias Lukwago will not be sworn-in on June 1 as earlier planned.

According to Police spokesperson Fred Enanga, they have requested Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) chief, Jenifer Musisi to postpone the function which was slated for Wednesday this week to another date.

Addressing a news conference in Kampala on Monday, Enanga said: "There is a lot of work this week, with two visiting Presidents and the Martyrs Day. We hope KCCA heeds to our request and postpones the ceremony."
