Katakwi-Napak border row resolution referred to Museveni

A recent survey failed to bare fruits

The land border issue between Katakwi and Napak districts has been deferred for further guidance from President Yoweri Museveni.

The administrative boundary row which has lasted decades again hit a snag after government contracted Mutiland Company Limited to survey the land in question.

The survey done following consent from both parties to cooperate and accept findings from the company failed to bare fruits when Napak district expressed dissatisfaction.

Nahaman Ojwe, the RDC Napak said the matter was referred to the President for more guidance before a concrete solution to the conflict is reached.

Filbert Ocailap, the RDC Katakwi appealed to the leaders of both districts to create a conducive environment for both communities to coexist.

He noted that the land in question is only an administrative issue but the people's welfare is paramount and must be taken as point of interest for all.
