Boxers thrill fans with knockouts at Lugogo

The tightest moment was when Zebra Senyange and Haruna Diba Banabana won their test matches.

KAMPALA - Boxers excited fans with knockouts in most of the fights organized by Baltic Pro Box Promotions at Lugogo MTN Arena.

All the Kenyans fighters were knocked out. Musa Ngege knocked out Kenyan Robert Ochieng in the second round followed by Badru Lusambya and and Joe Vegas Lubega who saw out Joseph Odhiambo and Kenneth Oyo in the second and first round, respectively.

The non-title fights were intended to tune up Uganda boxers to prepare for international encounters in the near future.

Lusambya, Lubega and Hamza Sempewo had earlier lost bouts in Russia, prompting promoter Eddie Bazira to take on a strategy of first giving them a regional challenge before competing for bigger titles.

The tightest moment was when Zebra Senyange and Haruna Diba Banabana won their test matches ahead of their encounter tentatively scheduled for June this year.

Boxers Senyange and Banabana ended in a stalemate but each side accused the other over illegal boxing. Hundreds of fans filled up the Lugogo MTN Arena the stadium to cheer and support their favorite boxers.
