Muslims pray for the Kabaka of Buganda

When we pray together, God answers our prayers. That is why we have come here today. We thank God for sustaining the Kabaka and Buganda and we pray for his wellbeing and the wellbeing of Buganda kingdom - Katikiro Mayiga

Uganda Muslim Supreme Council has today held a special prayers at the National Mosque –UMSC Headquarters Old Kampala, for His Majesty the King of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II as he celebrates his 61st birthday.

The prayers were conducted by the District Kadhi of Kampala Muslim District Sheikh Muhammad Yiga and presided over by His Eminence the Mufti of Uganda Shk. Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje.

In his remarks, the Mufti wished the Kabaka good health and prayed for peace in Buganda Kingdom and Uganda as a whole.

He cautioned Ugandans against taking part in acts of bloodshed and called for serious action against anyone instigating it.

To the youth who fantasize war, he cautioned them against that belief noting that, war is destructive and must be avoided by all peace loving people.

Buganda Kingdom was represented by its Minister of Information Owek Noah Kiyimba who delivered a special message from the Katikiro of Buganda Owek, Charles Peter Mayiga.

In his message, the Katikiro says the power of prayers is very important.

“When we pray together, God answers our prayers. That is why we have come here today. We thank God for sustaining the Kabaka and Buganda and we pray for his wellbeing and the wellbeing of Buganda kingdom”.

Today’s Khutubah (Friday sermon) was delivered by Sheikh Imran Ssali and the Juma prayers were led by Shk. Abdulwahid Nkalubo.

The Electoral Commission Chairman Dr. Eng. Badru Kiggundu was part of today’s congregation.
