Ngora residents warned against cults

Residents of Mukura Sub County Ngora district have been warned to distance themselves from the mushrooming cult churches.

The warning follows the incident in which a pastor of Jerusalem Church in Ariet parish in Mukura was accused of defiling a P7 pupil recently.

Immaculate Asio who hails from Mukura Sub County said most of the churches now come in the name of doing God's work yet their motives are different.

The LC3 chairperson Mukura Sub County, Martin Okiria Egau said his office had received several complaints from different people regarding the pastor who allegedly defiled the girl.

Egau said his office and police in Mukura are currently investigating reports that girls who pray at the church are abused.

Reports in Mukura Sub County indicate that the pastor whose names were withheld is currently on the run.
