Semi final

Bukedde 1 (2) Roofings 1 (0)
Cipla 3 Airtel 0

Simon Mulwasira scored the lone goal that saw Cipla QC beat Bukedde in the final of the Standard Chartered Bank Cup, to win a trophy and fully paid trip to Anfield in May.

The second half substitute came due to a defensive lapse after a great first half in the five-aside game that had attracted 40 teams at Namboole Stadium on Saturday.

Cipla, who had beaten Airtel 3-0 in the semifinal, had put up a good challenge to Bukedde, who had eliminated Roofings B at the same stage after a late equaliser, before winning 2-0 in penalties.

They had put up a good game, attacking their opponents though the Bukedde team was more composed in the match played at Nambole stadium.

However in the five minute second half, Cipla got a break through that left Valley Mugwanya, the tournament's best goalkeeper at loss, as he could not stop the low shot that made the difference.

However, he was still outstanding after saving two penalties that saw Bukedde reach the final for the organisers to give him tournament goalkeeper accolades.
