Kabaale Airport master plan ready for take off

The development of a master plan for an airport at Kabaale Parish, Buseruka Sub County, Hoima district has been completed.

"The consultant has submitted design reports up to 95% completion. The overall design work is scheduled to be completed by the first quarter of 2016," said Irene Muloni, minister for energy and mineral development in the ministerial policy statement for 2016/17, that has been presented to Parliament.

Twenty nine square kilometres of land is being acquired for Uganda's Refinery Project, an airport and an industrial park in Buseruka Sub County, Hoima District.

Robert Kasande, acting commissioner midstream petroleum department, ministry of energy and mineral development said the 29 square kilometers of land was enough.

The first phase of the construction of the refinery, they expect to bring in 30,000 tonnes of equipment plus thousands tonnes of construction materials and consumables.  

Investors in the oil refinery said 80% of these were expected to be delivered by road, 15% by railway and 5% by air.
