UPDF kills key Al-shabaab commander

The Uganda Contingent under AMISOM has killed key Al-shabaab Commander Abdirashir Buqdube and 22 other terrorists along  Buufow Janaale road.

This group of terrorists attempted to ambush and disrupt UPDF patrol operations but was un successful as 9 terrorists were put out of action. The forces reacted ambush and 9 Al-shabaab terrorists  were put out of action.

"Our patrols were clearing up the roads for free movement around the area when they were attacked by the AL-shabaab terrorists," UPDF says

UPDF officials say the AMISOM forces shall continue clearing these roads as they have so far completed two roads one from Beldamin to Qoryooley, Beldamin to Shalamboti.  "We are now clearing Buufow to Janaale thou Al-shabaab are trying to put resistance."

As a collective self-defense AMISOM and SNA Forces enabled coalition airstrikes against a group of Al-shabaab militants in their hide out 5KM along Buufow Janaale road, where Al-shabaab Commander Abdirashir Buqdube and 13 other terrorists have been killed. This is where theses terorrists coordinated their activities including the unsuccessful ambush on our forces and also carrying out atrocities to civilians in the area.

"Al-shabaab cannot hide and we shall continue to work hard to deny safe heaven to these terrorists until Somalia citizens have been liberated from Al-shabaab terror," UPDF officials say
