The women rugby governing body (UWRA) wants the rugby 15s league expanded to more than three teams.

UWRA secretary Helen Buteme told New Vision that expanding the league will expose more younger women to the sport thus a bigger pool of players to be selected from for national duty.

"We were only three teams so we need to have more teams in the league, though finance remains a big challenge to us," Buteme added.

"We finished the league and we congratulate Thunderbirds upon the league victory," Buteme said.

Meanwhile in the U-19 league games on Saturday, Police Teargas whipped baby Panthers 32-0 at the Dam Waterz rugby Club in Jinja.

Gloria Ayot managed two tries, while Rachael Mufuwa, Esther Naiga, Lydia Nambiro and Immaculate Mufuwa managed a try each.

Entebbe Sharks leads the table standings with 3 wins from 3 games while Police Teargas Rangers is second with two wins from three games.

Kyadondo Eagles is in third position with a win from three games while Entebbe Whales and Baby Panthers are both winless and are fourth and fifth respectively.
