A 19 year old woman is nursing painful wounds after being hacked on head by her co-wife.

Beatrice Nyandera is currently admitted at Mulago national referral hospital in the surgical ward.

Nyandera, a mother of two said on the fateful day her co-wife Scovia Tusimirire came at her home with a pang and stabbed her and her two-month old baby.

''I was seated outside my house waiting for my husband Francis Mugisha , my co-wife came and entered the house using the behind door and started stabbing my child, when I heard her crying, I ran to the house and found Tusimirire with a pang as my child was in a pool of blood," she said.

Tusimirire also went to the Boda-Boda stage where their husband works and stabbed him before she took off.

Nyandera said that after a few minutes her husband came home with a big cut on the hand and he was bleeding too much.

The incident took place at 10.00pm on Saturday in Kasambye village Hoima district.

The neighbours who had come to rescue the couple and their baby, rushed them to Kangwali health centre for treatment.

Nyandera said her child later passed on because she lost too much blood while her husband is still seeking treatment at the facility.

She added that the doctors at the facility referred her to Mulago hospital for specialised treatment.

She has undergone a brain CT-Scan and the bleeding has stopped.

Nyandera's relatives reported the case to police but the suspect is still on run.
