Museveni paid his condolences to the Kenyan president upon the loss his country’s soldiers

President Yoweri Museveni held a meeting with his Kenyan counterpart Uhuru Kenyatta in Arusha, Tanzania on Wednesday.

This was on the sidelines of the just concluded 17th East African Community (EAC) Summit at which South Sudan was admitted as a member of the regional economic bloc.

During their meeting, Museveni paid his condolences to the Kenyan president upon the loss his country's soldiers who were recently murdered by terror group Al Shabaab in Somalia.

On his part, Kenyatta congratulated his Ugandan counterpart upon his recent election victory.

Uganda went to polls on February 18 to elect their next president, a process that saw Museveni re-elected into power by brushing aside a seven-strong opposition that included his four-time challenger Dr. Kizza Besigye (FDC) and former Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi - who finished second and third in that order.

The meeting was attended, among others, by the Uganda's minister of foreign affairs Sam Kutesa, Uganda High Commissioners to Tanzanian and to Kenya Dorothy Hyuha and Angelina Wapakhabulo.
