Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL)

Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) is a limited liability company incorporated in Uganda under the Companies Act. UEDCL owns the 33KV and below voltage Electricity distribution Network and all the operational assets associated with the business currently leased to Umeme Ltd. The company monitors Umeme Ltd investment, generation and distribution of power in five territories covering 27 districts, operation of the pole plant at Lugogo, and execution of some rural electrification schemes on behalf of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. The Company is seeking to recruit qualified, Competent and highly motivated Ugandans.

1. GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS)

OFFICER

Reports to: Principal Network Investment officer

Supervises: GIS Technician.

Duty Station: Kampala

Contract: Initially Four years

Key Results Areas:

1. To manage Strategic leadership and manage GIS technology as a critical business process.

2. Collect data from the field, analyse and make reports for stakeholders.

3. To facilitate organizational change through implementation of GIS methodology.

4. To advise stakeholders on asset management risks.

5. Manage inventory on all distribution networks and update GIS accurately.

6. To Engage key stakeholders and industry alignment to derive value from GIS technology.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• A BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, BSc in GIS or equivalent from a recognized university.

• Experience of not less than 5 years, in similar role in a reputable Organization(s).

• Excellent analytical skills and hands on experience in planning power distribution systems.

• Valid driving permit and ability to drive on upcountry roads.

• Computer literacy with excellent working

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Power Point Presentations, databases.

2. STORES ASSISTANT (SA)

Reports to: Store Keeper

Duty Station: Kampala

Contract: Initially One year (Renewable)

Key Results Areas:

1. To receive and keep updated record of stock items in the Company's main stores.

2. Issue Materials as per standard stores procedures and guidelines.

3. To prepare stores accounts every months.

4. To prepare daily and monthly reports on stores status for management decisions.

5. To identify risks and eliminate any likely incidents of material loss.

6. To keep close supervision of the security guards to ensure safety of stocks at the stores.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• A Business Degree (Majoring in Accounting) from a recognized university.

• A Diploma in Stores Management, or Supply Chain is highly desirable.

• A candidate with CIPS will have an advantage.

• Experience of not less than 3 years, in stores management in a reputable Organization(s).

• Evidence of high integrity, & team-work.

• Excellent written and oral communication.

• Computer literacy with excellent working Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Accounting packages and, databases.
