Embattled  Lillian Nafuna, wife to city mogul Ssaalongo Kasawuli aka Samona, was Tuesday whisked to Butabika for mental check up.

Nafuna faces possible charges of attempted murder after she torched Samona's suite at Pacify Executive Hotel in Wakaliga Saturday evening.

She was whisked to Butabika, on the advice of police, after Samona decided to file a case against her.

Attempting to duck and shield herself from cameras, Nafuna was escorted out of Old Kampala police station where she had been detained since her arrest on Monday to a waiting Toyota Noah which Samona bought her.

On her way out however, responding to a barrage of questions from reporters, she said the incident was only orchestrated by Samona to embarrass her in public, and denied any wrong doing.

"I will not say much except that all this Samoma is doing to embarrass me. Dragging me through the mud using the media also affects him; we both get embarrassed," she said.

Samona, when contacted for comment, said the Police advised that if he was filing a case against Nafuna she would have to be checked at Butabika. He said he did not object and in case she is found to be unstable he is willing to foot her medical bills, otherwise he is still in shock at what she did.

He said despite that he set up businesses for her including a shop and beer depot, and building her a house, she has failed to settle.

The couple's troubles stem back eighteen months back when they separated due to property wrangles. Samona said the woman even attempted to bump him off over a commercial building in Nateete. She had demanded that he put the building in her names, but when she went to extra lengths to achieve her desires, he instead built her a house in Najjanankumbi.
