TWO crime preventers from Alito sub county in Koke are in police custody for allegedly receiving a bribe of sh350,000 from gamblers.

 

Police arrested Okello Sam and Eram Patrick after concern citizens reported them for forcefully asking money from them for playing cards.

 

Odite Richard and three other residents whose identity wasn’t established by press time were netted at Alyec Village, Lwala parish in Alito sub county playing card and escorted to the home of Acara Alex the areas’ head of security.

 

Odite said the two crime preventers pressed them to contribute sh100,000 for them to be released before reaching Ayara police post.

 

Odite added that money amounting to sh250,000 that was also in their pockets during the arrest was also taken.

 

DPC of Kole Ahmed Musakana confirmed the arrest of the two saying they were still at Alito Outpost but declined to say what charge they will face.

 

North Kyoga police publicist Mansur Suwed said the OC CID of Kole did not brief him about the incident. 

 

The case was registered under SD ref 09/07/11/2015.
