Coach Abbey Arum Mugayi has tipped motor-mouthed martial artist Moses Golola for better prospects in boxing following his victory over Egyptian Saber Abdelghani.

Golola beat the Egyptian in a unanimous four round middleweight international boxing contest at Hilton Hotel on Friday.

The fight was one of the major highlights of a fundraising drive for the Golola Kick-Boxing Talent Academy.

“I was very impressed with Golola’s boxing skills. His guard was very good and he has power,” Mugayi said, after his fighter had laboured to contain the Egyptian.

“The only problem is that he is still slow on delivery. We are going to focus on his speed work. After that am sure his next fight is going to be very good,” the veteran boxing promoter added.

Golola was under a one month intensive training under Mugayi ahead of his first boxing bout.

His boxing debut is part of the on-going fundraising drive for sh2.6billion for the academy at Lugoba in Kawempe Division.

Golola has promised to fight on untill his dream of the academy is realized. “My dream is to see many talented Ugandans win more medals. In this world you have to fight on. Even getting a good wife is a fight,” he said.

“I believe there are so many young men and women I have inspired. I want to see guys who believe in themselves. I want to encourage them because Ugandan sport has to go another level.”

Golola said his ambition of setting up the academy is to see that Ugandan sportsmen participate in all Olympics sports.

“You cannot develop sport without an academy. I am a bridge in Ugandan sport. I am going to lay my back there for the young generation,” Golola said .
