NRM primaries postponed to Tuesday

The NRM electoral commission has postponed the party primary elections for district, parliamentary and municipal council flagbearers for the 2016 elections.

According to a letter signed by the NRM electoral commission vice chairperson John Kigyagi Arimpa, the party primaries that had for long been slated for October 26 have been delayed for a day – and will take place on Tuesday.

The missive did not indicate any reason for the delay but the electoral commission regretted “any inconveniences caused”.

Efforts to get a comment from the party’s electoral commission chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi were fruitless as his known phone number failed to go through.
