Kitara Region 0-6 Uganda Cranes

Some of the Uganda Cranes fringe players tried to rediscover themselves at the Kitara region over the weekend but the head coach Milutin 'Micho' Sredojevic has insisted none of the players can be guaranteed a place in their next match.

Match captain Robert Sentongo scored a brace while Caesar Okhuti, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Frank Kalanda and Julius Ntambi scored a goal each but Micho said that was not enough to convince him.

"We cannot say they (players) are now guaranteed places against Sudan. The players will need to do more to weare the jersey again," Micho explained.

Uganda is preparing to face Sudan in the last stage of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers first at home on October 17 in Kampala before the return leg a week later in Khartoum.

The Uganda Cranes had won their previous encounters against Western Region (1-0), North East (2-0) and 5-0 against the Northern region making the 6-0 over Kitara region a confidence booster of some sort.

The tours are intended to take the national team closer to fans in their respective localities.
