Former FIFA referee Catherine Adipo isthe new vice chairman of the FUFA Referees standing committee (FRSC). Adipo  replaces George Kabwemukya .

The decision was passed  by the FUFA Executive Committee at a meeting convened earlier this week.

The committee also introduced four sub-committees, all intended to improve the quality of refereeing in the country. They include Appointments, Monitoring, Technical Development and Assessment and Promotion of referees.

The FUFA referees standing committee chairperson remains Sam Mpiima and  Adipo  who  is now  the  Vice Chairperson will be responsible for the match referees' appointments  while  Harunah Mawanda  will be charge  of  monitoring the referees.

Former World Cup assistant referee Ali Tomusange  will handle the technical development of referees as Ronnie Kalema will head the Assessment and promotion of referees.

The four Referees sub-committee members are;

Appointments: Catherine Adipo (Chairperson), Hajji Abdul Ssekabira (Member)

Monitoring: Harunah Mawanda (Chairperson), George Kabwemukya and David Davies Katabira (Members)

Technical Development: Ali Tomusange (Chairperson), Yusuf Awuye and Ali Wasiswa (Members)

Assessment and Promotion: Ronnie Kalema (Chairperson), Joseph Mwanje and George Wamala Katumba (Members)

Meanwhile, 19 FIFA referees  and  77 national referees  were selected after the medical and physical fitness tests for the 2015/2016season. FUFA referees badges  have also  been introduced and will also be used at the regional levels.
