Former education minister Ntimba mourned

THE speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has described the former Deputy Minister of Education as a true statesman who was instrumental in the creation of high quality education in the country

THe Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has described the fallen former deputy minister of education John Ntimba as a true statesman who was instrumental in the creation of high quality education in the country.

She said Parliament recognizes and appreciates Ntimba’s contributions to the democratization efforts of this country. 

“He was a calm and gentle politician who was very versatile and offered leadership through many situations,” she noted.

She added, “Having been part of the leadership of this country, Ugandans of all shades will miss him because of those outstanding leadership attributes.”

The Speaker’s message was delivered by the minister of state for works John Byabagambi during a requiem mass that was attended by hundreds of mourners at Rubaga Cathedral on Tuesday.

The widow Lois Ntimba said her husband was a strong pillar of the home up to the time of his death.

“Death has robbed our family of a father and a husband. A father is the pillar of the home that even in his advanced years the late Ntimba’s advice and counsel have benefited much. May your soul rest in eternal peace, goodbye John,” she eulogized.

Parliament contributed sh1m towards burial expenses.
