UGANDA trounced Seychelles 3-0 to win the tie 5-1 on aggregate in the second round of the 2015 African U-17 Championship qualifiers in the match played at Lugogo.
Charles Sebutinde opened the scoring in the first minute before the Seychellois conceded an own goal to double the lead midway through the first half.
Pius Obuya, who notched the winner in first leg also scored the third to leave Seychelles with a mountain to climb before the break.
In the second half, the physically exhausted Seychelles struggled to cope and full back Darian Houreau collapsed on the pitch after chasing winger Alex Komakech from the halfway line and conceded a penalty.
Komakech missed it with the ball hitting the upright with his second attempt after the referee forced a retake because the Seychelles goalie had rushed off his line.
Minutes later, Eric Kibowa denied Houreau a consolation goal after he saved his penalty. Seychelles had until then had only one shot at goal.
Team captain Andrew Okiring who joined action late on after coming off the bench said “Rwanda is the next team in line. We are determined. We played better in the return leg and we hope to do better against Rwanda.”
The Cubs face Rwanda in the second round at Lugogo on July 18.
