Nigerian film star graces film festival

Nigerian actress Patience Ozokwo is in Uganda to launch this year’s Film Festival. The actress, largely popular for the brusque role she plays in many of her movies.

Nigerian actress Patience Ozokwo is in Uganda to launch this year’s Film Festival.  The actress, largely popular for the brusque role she plays in many of her movies, jetted in Tuesday. 
 
While here she will talk to Ugandans in the arts and the movie industry. 
 
“I am here to share my experiences with Ugandan actors, to inspire them,” said Ozokwor, also known as Mama G. 
On Tuesday night, she launched the Uganda’s 2nd Film Festival, at the event held at the Uganda Communications Commission offices in Bugolobi, Kampala.

Born on March 25 in Ngwo, Enugu State, Nigeria, Mama G joined the movie industry in 1995. 
Her first act was in the movie Ukwa. 
 
By 1998, she had become hugely popular with the film industry in Nigeria and the Nigeria movie Authority. 
 
Her role as Mother General in Old School was so successful that her fans the world over adopted the name, Mama G (from Mother General) and it has since become her stage name. 
 
The actress has starred in over 100 Nollywood movies. 
 
She has four biological children and four adopted children.
