Each week that comes by, Coca-Cola Rated Next Sing It competition not only takes a rather interesting twist but also evokes and raises excitement to the viewers and adrenaline to the contestants. For the third live show on Sunday at the National Theatre, it was more than that; it brought forth disappointment, sirens of voices came to the fore as some contestants were sent packing bound for home.

A guest host, Urban TV’s Danze Mosha, who seemingly didn’t disappoint an ounce, opened the show by calling the contestants on the stage. They swaggered, smartly dressed with nervous grins on their faces; well knowing that what lay ahead wasn’t an easy task.

Lillian Apiyo was the first on the stage and did the rendition of Jackie Chandiru’s Agassi. Charles, who seemed to be one of the crowd’s favorites, ambled onto the stage as the audience thunderously shouted out his name; he did Rachael Namubiru’s Nzize.

The third contestant to test her musical talent was the 14-year-old Ruth Grace. She did Naava Grey’s Aliba Wani. According to the judges, Sharpe Ssewali, Benon Mugumbya and Lillian Mbabazi, she failed to do justice to the song. The judges’ verdict, thereafter, haunted her.

Winnie, who was on probation, followed thereafter with the well-crafted rendition of Iryn Namubiru’s Ndereya. She, more especially, impressed Judge Lillian Mbabazi. It was time for Pages to turn more musical pages as he took the stage and sang Kuku by Moze Radio and Weasel. The judges, all of them, laid blame at the contestants’ song selection.

Sharifah, who was on probation too, knew that she had to use the given chance to prove that her being on the probation list was by sheer mistake. She performed Desire Luzinda’s Mubite. Lillian Nabuuma, her of a one dimple according to host Mosha, did Juliana Kanyomozi’s Sanyu Lyange. The dreadlocked Joshua stirred the audience as he did Benon and Vamposs’ I Know that rendered Judge Benon to silently doff his hat as he poured infinite praise on him. The towering tall Eseri, dressed to the proverbial nines, later sauntered to the stage and did Iryn Namubiru’s Kabi Ki. Clearly, her performance not only impressed Judge Ssewali, but also made Judge Lillian to hip praise on her vocal prowess.

Hudson was the last contestant of the night. Donning his signature black glasses, he did Radio and Weasel’s Nakudata. Thereafter, the cul-de-sac, for some contestants, ensued; it was time for eviction. For the viewers, it was time to either get disappointed at their favorite contestants or rise up on their feet in jubilation. The contestants who were on probation were called on the stage where the jury was upon them. Before the curtain fell, Sharifah, Lillian Apiyo and Lillian Nabuuma, were evicted out of the competition.

However, some of the contestants were put on probation where, this Sunday, they will face the ruthless jury again. Those on probation are; Ruth Grace, Hudson and Pages.

The excitement and drama continues on Urban TV.
