EVERYONE had predicted a one sided affair in favour of table leaders KCCA but the hosts ended up being on the receiving end.

The nine-time champions left their Lugogo home ground wondering what had hit them after they were upset by a struggling Express.

George Nsimbe’s side was on the firing line as early as the second minute as a Willy Kyambadde free kick put the Red Eagles up. Rogers Lukwika then made it two for the visitors setting the first half score at 2-0.

It was Herman Wasswa who put KCCA back in the game with a 52 minute goal, his eighth in six games. He again showed cool nerves as he headed in a Steven Bengo pass.

But Isaac Serunkuma put the game back in the visitors’ favour off a counter attack master minded by Allan Kyambadde.

Kyambadde who ripped through KCCA’s back line from the left flank set the ball for Sserunkuma who shot in past former Express goalkeeper Jamal Magoola.

KCCA tried to claw its way back with a Derrick Nsibambi goal but that was not enough for the surging Eagles.

Elsewhere Soana and Masaka battled to a draw in a six-goal thriller at Kavumba. Soana’s Francis Olaki had a brace just like Andy Kiwewa for the opponents. Dan Wagaluka (Soana) and Rogers Kimuli had a goal each.

At Namboole Kira Young and Bidco played to a goal-less draw.
