Vision Group's photojournalist Mubiru Kakebe has passed on. Mubiru was on Friday night admitted to Mulago hospital intensive care unit.

According to friends, Mubiru collapsed at his home and was rushed to Nsambya hospital where he was diagnosed with tetanus. He was then referred to Mulago when his condition worsened.

The events leading to Mubiru's demise are indeed strange.

In January this year, he was assigned to cover an event on a boat cruise. While there a woman slashed his arm with a bottle as he took her picture. The case was reported at Kabalagala police station where the woman was released on bond.

According to friends, Mubiru was not given a tetanus shot when he sought treatment for the wound he sustained and this could have led to his eventual death.
