FUFA Super League
Entebbe 1 Vipers 1
Bright Stars 0 CRO 0
Soana 1 Kira Young 0
Bidco 1 Simba 0
VIPERS lacked their usual spark today but still went into the Super League lead.
The 2010 champions were held by second from bottom Entebbe as they took a one point lead.
Cranes star Yunus Sentamu was also not at his best as he struggled to recover from a bout of malaria and a joint injury.
Farouk Miya put the visitors ahead at 12 minutes but an Ismael Kazibwe own goal had Entebbe leveling the score.
Coach Edward Golola was however bitter saying referee Eric Sekikofu aided Entebbe to the draw.
“He was unfair. We should have got a penalty besides other bad decisions he made against us.”
As Vipers were being held, Soana continued with its impressive run beat arch-rivals Kira Young to move from fourth to third position. Dan Wagaluka was the day’s star scoring Soana’s winner.
In Jinja Joshua Masene scored to give the Kakindu side BUL Bidco its first win this month. Masene sent the home crowd into thunderous cheers as he struck with a volley from 20 yards off a Patrick Asiku pass.
Simba coach Fred Kajoba was disappointed by his troops’ performance. “We failed in our responsibility of defending and were in the process punished.”
At Nakivubo Bright Stars couldn’t go past tailing CRO in a match that ended goal-less.
