Bad Black battles money lender over sh105m

Shanitah Namuyimba popularly known as Bad Black seems to always have her in-tray full of trouble.

The former Kampala socialite is now battling a court case of defaulting on payment of sh105m that was filed by Ismail Mpanga Bumba to.

The case came up for mention of Wednesday in court presided by Justice David Wangutusi. However it was adjourned because the money lender was absent.

When contacted on phone by court officials, Bumba explained that he was not notified on time.

Bad Black was present in court. Accordingly, the judge adjourned proceeding to March 7.

According to court documents of the suit filed on November 28 2011, Bad black allegedly borrowed sh80m from Mpanga on October 8 2011 and promised to pay in one month.

She presented her BMW maroon in colour as collateral. At the time URA demanded taxes to clear the vehicle.

Bad Black's debt accumulated to sh105m after she failed to repay.

Mpanga, through Kampala Associated Advocates, says Bad Black promised to pay the money within a month and deposited her car log book as security which she failed to adhere to.

The businessman contends that Bad cBlack deposited with him additional security for the loan in form of a cheque number 800038 to be cashed at Standard Chartered Bank.

Mpanga was to draw sh80m from her account in the event that she failed to pay on schedule as agreed.

Only last year, Bad Black was extradited  from Rwanda having been on the run for jumping bail. She is currently serving a four-year jail term at Luzira prison for embezzlement.
