Award-winning journalist, Angelo Izama joins Urban TV

Angelo Izama, one of Uganda’s leading journalists has joined Vision Group’s urban Television. According to the Urban Television manager, Michael Owor, Izama will be hosting and producing a debate and an interview political talk show.

Angelo Izama, one of Uganda’s finest journalists has joined Vision Group’s urban Television.
According to the Urban Television manager, Michael Owor, Izama will be hosting and producing a debate and an interview political talk show.
“Angelo is one of the most intelligent Ugandans. Not only is he a seasoned journalist, he has passion for journalism. He is definitely resourceful as we project urban TV as a leading station for credible journalism. He is a key driver for urban TV’s mature audience, Owor said.
Izama brings a wealth of experience in public affairs, wide connections and journalistic skills to Urban Television.
He has been a multimedia journalist for over 10 years now, having started out as a radio producer at Monitor’s Eye Opener morning show in 2001.
He later produced the Andrew Mwenda Live talk show before stretching his ambitions to writing and television.
Over the years, he has specialized in covering security matters, political analysis, energy, regional cooperation and the oil sector.
His work has won him prestigious awards including the NED Reagan-Fascell Democracy fellowship (2007), a Knight Fellowship at Stanford University (2010-2012), and more recently the Open Society fellowship.
He has consulted widely for international media and organizations. He has also participated in various radio and Television debates.
Izama continues to offer consultation services to NGOs, government and private organisations on human security through “Fanaka Kwawote” (Prosper for all), a human think tank he recently helped to establish.
It is this wealth of knowledge and accomplishment that will make his time on urban worth its while.
