Volleyball League playoff

Men, Game Two

KAVC v Sport-S

Nemostars v Nkumba

KAVC attacker Hannington Nsubuga cannot stop bragging ahead of their Game 2 clash with former champions Sport-S in the league playoffs at the MTN Arena tonight.

Nsubuga, who stands at 5ft 11in and weighs 104kg making him the heaviest volleyball player in Uganda, has dismissed Sport-S as ‘no challenge’ and predicts an easy win for KAVC to cut short the best of three semifinals series and book their final slot in the playoffs..

“At the moment Sport-S cannot match us. We are more solid than them in all departments on the court. They tried to fight for themselves last weekend but I can’t give them a chance even tomorrow. We are more organised,” Nsubuga explained.

Nsubuga has often combined power and experience with one of the highest jumps and blazing attacks.

He will come up against his partner at the beach volleyball tours Isaac Omedo but he said that the Sport-S player, who recently switched roles is no longer a threat.

“He gave people hard time as a centre player. I do not understand why he has opted for power play because he threatens no more,” Nsubuga said of Omedo.

Other than Nemostars, KAVC not only enjoys the services of the heaviest player but also the tallest volleyball star in the country at the moment, Xavier Atama.

In the second encounter, Nemostars face Nkumba anticipating a similar achievement like KAVC’s in Game Two having won Game One.

KAVC and Nemostars will ride on their respective previous wins against Sport-S and Nkumba University last Saturday.

And another victory for each of them tonight will conclude the best of three series in the men’s semifinals.
