Musician Bobi Wine, the self-proclaimed “Ghetto President”, put up an electric performance at the first anniversary of Gulu’s PierA2 nightclub.

The Mazzi Mawanvu star’s presence pulled a huge crowd that filled the renovated nightclub to full capacity.

He stepped on stage a little before 2am (EAT) local time, backed by his ‘second in command’ Nubian Lee, who had earlier warmed up the stage in a collabo with Gulu’s Pato Loverboy.

The “Ghetto President” unleashed some of his best songs:  Manya Size yo, Kigwa Leero, Kiwani and Paradiso.

The nightclub, only a year old now, is seen as the best hangout joint in Gulu.

“We opened in August last year but with less workmanship, we have improved on the lights and interior decorations to give our customers a good ambiance,” said James Ronald Ojok, the manager.

Martin Ojara Mapenduzi, Gulu district chairman, was the chief guest. He said that as the town is in the process of gaining city status, the presence of such hangout places is a must.

Former RDC Catherine Lamwaka, the municipal speaker Kelly Komakech and other senior citizens joined the celebrations.

Other performers that entertained the buoyant revelers included Smookie Allan, and Okeng, Lango’s revered comedian who cracked the ribs of many with his abundant humor.
