AFTER winning the Castle Lite Onito memorial golf tournament convincingly, Entebbe golfer Willy Kitatta believes he can replicate his winning form at the Uganda Open next month.

Kitatta beat Ronald Bukenya by four strokes for his second win at Jinja Club this year after he won the Eskom tournament earlier in May.

“No matter what, I have to win the Open this year. I’m going to do whatever it takes to achieve the best,” the Eskom-sponsored handicap +3 golfer from Entebbe club said after being crowned by Nile Breweries managing director Nick Jenkinson.

“The conditions on the course were tough especially on the first day and the pressure from the opponents was there, but I tend to play well when under pressure and that is what helped me to hold on; my caddie also did a fantastic job,” Kitatta remarked.

The win earned him a 120-litre Sharp fridge and a trophy. He heads to Rwanda next week for another tournament.
