Ugandans in America to stage trade show

It is that time of summer and the Ugandan community in Boston America are celebrating this year’s annual summer splash in style by displaying Ugandan made commodities to the Americans.

It is that time of summer and the Ugandan community in Boston America are celebrating this year’s annual summer splash in style by displaying Ugandan made commodities to the Americans.


The annual event dubbed ‘summer splash’ which is organized by Radio Uganda Boston (RUB), will also see Ugandans targeting the American market travel to Boston to display their products.

In press statement by Geoffrey Nsereko, the public relations director Radio Uganda Boston, during the event, the government will also showcase its programs that are relevant to both the international community and Ugandans in the diaspora.

“This is an open market for Ugandans in the diaspora. They will use this platform to exhibit Ugandan products at the international market,” said Nsereko.

According to Nsereko, the trade fair which attracts Americans and Ugandans in the USA, offers an opportunity to Ugandans in the diaspora to shop products that are made and produced in Uganda.

He further explained that this year’s summer splash, which is also an opportunity for Ugandans scattered all over America, to meet and greet , will be celebrated in Waltham square commonly known as ‘Our Kampala’ the center of Ugandans.

“As people will be shopping around, we shall also have raffle tickets and gifts ranging from Computers, Laptops, tablets, sport bikes, kids games as well as adult games like  Dodging locally known as Kwepena, sack racing , ekigwo, Mweso among others,” noted Nsereko.

The event which takes place on July 4 will see Ugandan local artist Rema Namakula perform.

The vendors at the show are required to pay between $200-$450 to secure a table for showing casing their products.
