Egypt v Uganda (5.30pm)

CRANES head coach Micho Sredojevic believes his side has the character and depth to produce a shocker by beating Egypt in today’s high-profile friendly in El Gouna.

Under normal circumstances, the four time Africa champions would be outright favourites against a side yet to qualify for the Africa Nations Cup finals since 1978.

But such is the level of confidence oozing from the Serbian that he insisted his side will retain their attacking style of play against the Pharoahs.

“The team I have can help me secure a victory although the friendly will also be used to work on a few details about our game,” Micho told New Vision Sport yesterday.

Micho, who also claimed that his side will not approach the game defensively, challenged all the players to prove their fitness levels ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Senegal.

“I want every player here to show me passion and determination, he added. According to the rules of the friendly that will be watched by only 10,000 fans due to security reasons, both sides will be allowed to make six substitutions.

Egypt coach Bob Bradley said: “I watched Uganda’s game against Angola they played recently and I know they have a do or die game against Senegal, so the friendly means a lot to them.”

Line up: Denis Onyango, Nicholas Wadada, Isaac Isinde, Andy Mwesigwa, Godfrey Walusimbi, Hassan Wasswa, Denis Guma, Tonny Mawejje, Martin Mutumba, Emma Okwi, Geoffrey Massa.
