Museveni launches National Dev't Plan

President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday launched the second National Development Plan (2015-2020), which he said will graduate Uganda from the stage of a Least Development Country to a status of a Lower-Middle Income State.

President Yoweri Museveni on Thursday launched the second National Development Plan (2015-2020), which he said will graduate Uganda from the stage of a Least Development Country to a status of a Lower-Middle Income State.


Museveni has also launched the United Nations Development Assistance Framework for Uganda-2016-2020.


Museveni, who is at Serena Conference Hall, where finance minister, Matia Kasaija is currently delivering the budget speech, has also predicted the country’s per capita income to shoot to sh9, 000 by 2040.

“By the end of this (implementation of the National Development Plan, 2015-2020, we would have graduated from Least Developed County to a lower-middle income…we are now sure  that we shall surpass that…” he said.
