Dr. Michael Mungoma, a physician at Mulago hospital, says stroke patients recover with some degree of complications.

However, the degree of complications depends on the severity of the stroke and the part of the brain that was affected, Mungoma explains.

In the same breathe, Dr Deo Munube, a pediatrican at Mulago hospital, explains that if the stroke affected a part of the drain that is responsible for walking, then the patient gets physically impaired and cannot walk.
Some will not be able to talk, hear while others will get blind or deaf.

Munube explains that some stroke patients recover with complications related to behavior.

Others will start laughing unnecessarily. And for those who cannot talk, may have problems expressing themselves when they want to pass urine or stool and end up soiling their clothing or beddings.

To the worst scenario, Kiryabwiire says death can result especially on the onset of the stroke as attendants wait for the victims to regain consciousness or in the first weeks of stroke.

A few others might die in the recovery stage around the time they are discharged and are struggling to get back to real life, he explains.
