Water FC, who finished the first round of the FUFA Big League in second place of the Rwenzori Group, are yet to rediscover their winning ways in the second half of the season.

Their woes continued on Saturday after being held by Hope Doves at home in Mengo, meaning that they have remained winless in six of their last games in all competitions.

Water are currently placed fifth, but they will hope to make something out of the two games in hand they still have in order to ascend.

Tenywa Mubarak’s goal against Hope Doves looked like it would earn them an elusive victory, only for it to be cancelled out through an equalizer.

The hosts came into the game bearing a lot of pressure to win, but they instead put up a performance lacking in enthusiasm and the will to go the extra mile.

Their top scorer Abwoli tried an effort 20 yards out coming from a Robert Mugisha pass, but it floated agonizingly wide.

Half-an-hour into the game, Water were awarded a penalty when Abwoli was fouled in the box, and Mubarak tucked home beautifully from the spot.

The second half saw the visitors attack harder, and had Yusuf Mujuni blast several shots at goal and once hitting the woodwork, and an equalizer looked more likely.

And the leveler soon came. After many attempts goal-wards, Mujuni steered home in the 75th minute to send the travelling fans into raptures.

The home team responded by quickening their play but a disciplined and impenetrable Hope Doves side kept them at bay, enough for them to share the spoils.
