"Let us be well organised. Let us stop fighting, bury our differences and resolve to work together for the good of the sport as we give sponsors value for their money," Katumba stated.

"It is great to have these elders together and if you saw the joy Mzee Ntege (Edward) had when he met Arthur Blick Sr, then let us get the bull by the horns and organise this sport better," the General added in a passionate tone for the sport.

He commended the organising committee for work done and pledged more support to the sport despite him being too busy to attend the events.

The event lived to its billing as all award winners attended in person except 2011 NRC champion Suzan Muwonge whose accolade was picked by her co-driver Edmond Kyeyune.

Former drivers represented by represented by Sam Ssali lauded FMU for remembering them and urged not to be forget thereafter.
