The Inspector General of Police, Gen Kale Kayihura has transferred ten senior Police officers in Kampala, among them Divisional and Regional Police commanders.

Last weekend, Kayihura toured several city Police Stations late in the night amid allegations of security laxity, bribery and extortion claims among his policemen.

During the fact finding mission, Kayihura reportedly found some Police Stations unguarded.

A Senior Superintendent of Police (SP) Henry Kintu formerly DPC at the CPS Kampala and SP Apollo Kyagungu of Wakiso have been suspended pending ongoing investigations by the Police Professional Standards Unit.

Traders of Kiseka Market and Mini-Price in downtown Kampala accused Kintu and his Junior Officers of extortion. The claims prompted Kayihura to suspend him.

SP Micheal Musani Sabira has replaced Kintu as DPC, Central Police Station.

A Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and RPC, Kampala South, James Ruhweza has been transferred to Sipi region and
replaced by SSP, Siraje Bakaleke of Kampala East.
