The last time Nigeria’s top comedienne Mandy Uzonitsha stepped in Kampala was at the ‘Night of 1000 laughs’ comedy show last year, where she astounded many with her on-the-point jokes about some of Uganda’s celebrities and social life.

Mandy is back in town and will tomorrow deck the stage at The Hub for the ‘Pablo and the Continental comedian’ a comedy event started by native comedian Kenneth Kimuli a.k.a Pablo last month.

The Nigerian, who has been at it for close to 18 years, revealed this morning at the press conference held at The Hub, that she’s followed Uganda state of affairs since last year when she was around, and was ready to do what has brought back.

She amused journalists when she asked about Golola Moses’s whereabouts and joked that the kick boxer won his recent fight against Hungarian Betya Istavan for her, the reason she’s remained single until they meet.

“I am still single and I have come for Golola, I am the reason he won his last fight” Mandy joked.

However she was thankful to Ugandans for embracing the comedy industry and inviting African comedians, a bit she says will take African comedy global.

“We are not here to look at me as comedian from Nigeria, or Pablo from Uganda. We are here to look at us as comedians taking African comedy global. It’s not easy but we will reach it. We are one family.”

Mandy is the second African comedian for the show after Pablo hosted Zambian rib-cracker Chibwe Katebe last month.

The show will also feature Uganda’s established comedians like Bob and a number of novices like the duo of Billy and Gilly.
