UGANDA Cricket Association have dedicated their Nile Special USPA award for the month of February to national team players Ronald Semmanda and retired Benjamin Musoke.

USPA on Monday voted the men's cricket team their personality of the month for winning seven consecutive matches against Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya and Botswana to qualify for the Twenty20 ICC Division two League.

The Nile Special USPA Award returns to the crickets for the first time since January last year Arinaitwe Karashani won it.

UCA chief executive Justin Ligyalingi said yesterday that although is timely as the team prepares for World League Division three in Bermuda next month; it is dedicated to Semmanda, who was hospitalised after collusion with a colleague while playing.

It is a well-deserved accolade for the team. It should be a welcome motivation for the Division three league.

Most importantly the award is dedicated to Ronald Semmanda, who was stayed with the team even after an accident and Musoke who finally retired after playing for the national team for years,  Ligyalingi said yesterday.

The 36 year-old Musoke retired from Twenty20 cricket after spearheading Uganda's qualification for the global championship in Bermuda.

The winners will be crowned during a ceremony on March 21st at Lugogo Tennis Club.
