President Yoweri Museveni has said that the Government is to find a way of supporting churches in the country to supplement their role of attending to both spiritual and human needs.

He affirmed that as the national budget improves for the better, the NRM Government will find a way of assisting the churches.

Museveni made the remarks at State House, Entebbe, when he made a cash donation of Shs.100 million to Jinja Catholic Diocese as part of fulfilling the pledges that he made to the diocese in September this year towards the construction project for St. Gonzaga Gonza Iganga Minor Seminary that needs over Shs.1.3 billion.

Jinja diocese is aiming at putting up a building every 2 years to have a total of 22 buildings in 44 years that will house over 1,000 boys.

Museveni promised to fulfill the remaining pledges he made to the Diocese.

He handed over the donation to Rev. Fr. Joseph Kalinaki who represented Jinja Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev. Charles Martin Wamika.
Fr. Kalinaki saluted the President for the generous contribution to the Church.
