Domestic netball league champions National Insurance Corporation (NIC) have suspended four of their dependable players for illegally featuring in a tournament in Kenya over the weekend.

Lukia Meeme, Nassim Kazaana, Suzan Mukala and Elizabeth Atonet will serve a two-month ban on the local scene.

The ban follows a communication from the Kenya Netball Association assistant secretary Lilian Anupi that the stars were spotted playing for Kenya Port Authority over the weekend.

“I had no knowledge of their participation in the event. They did not ask for permission to go,” NIC coach Fatia Kitaka said.
